I got a new cat and it is spraying all over the place. How can I stop it from spraying, or encourage it to do it somewhere else?

more info is needed.. such as age and gender? if its a mature intact male cat neutering should do the trick, confine him to one room in the house where there is a litter box until you can get him done.. and even then he needs another week in the room to let his hormones cool down. There are many other reasons for this for which this link offers the causes and solutions to http://therealowner.com/cats/litter-box-training-problems-in-cats/ |

it is unclear whether your cat is spraying urine or simply urinating out of the box, which are two entirely different matters. There is a product called Feliway, which is pherome-based, and is said to be effective in discouraging spraying behavior. It's also widely available on the Net. Feliway comes in both a spray bottle and a Plug-In, which disperses the pherome throughout a room. It is colorless and odorless to humans |
